Institutional Barazas in Kyegegwa District

The Kyegegwa District Local Government regularly holds institutional barazas across its various sub-counties (such as Hapuuyo, Mpara, and Ruyonza) to audit ongoing public works. These community oversight forums focus heavily on tracking the local budget allocations.
Discussions center around infrastructural updates, such as the construction of piped water systems, borehole drilling, solar grid extensions, and district building upgrades.

These are strictly monitored by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), and the District Chairperson to ensure feedback directly reaches district planners.
Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Baraza
The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) hosted its maiden public baraza for the Tooro sub-region on August 22, 2026, at Humura Playground. Organised by District Coordinator Jovent Kyarimpa and local leaders, the massive public gathering addressed critical grassroots issues
The day-long meeting was dominated by citizens voicing concerns over land disputes, the alleged selling of government jobs, administrative corruption, and prolonged police detention without trial.
The baraza integrated specialist teams, including lawyers offering free legal guidance, medical professionals treating health cases on the spot, and security experts.
